Current project - which might very well be the world’s longest table runner.  86” x 16”.   

The first idea was to make 2 table runners ..... one for spring/summer and one for fall/winter.  Common sense stepped in (which isn’t often) and thought - why not make it reversible?  That’s the plan.  

Reverse will be consist of larger rectangles (courtesy of my beloved Accuquilt dies).  Bottom line:  quicker to put together and get it off to the recipients in time for their Thanksgiving dinner.  One can hope.  

In the meantime, my Q’Nique 15 Pro is almost ready for her maiden voyage.  After 2 years plus of seeing her sitting on the frame in the SQS (Sharon’s Quilting Studio...lest you forgot), it was time to finish adding the accessories.  Encoder wheels - installed.  The mini screen (whatever that does) just has to be plugged in.  Oil will be added wherever the instruction manual says to add it...and then, lots of prayers when she is up and running.  She then will lose the name “Ms Patience” and become “Ms Daisy”.  Yes,  I have named all my sewing machines.  This may very well be the case because I tend to forget the manufacturer of the machines I have still have.  

My hope is to continue adding posts as a way of keeping track of my quilting life.  Hard to believe just how long this quilting life has been...and will continue with God’s blessings.

New project, you ask?  Oh yes, new project. Word got out that I "sew" a bit....and was asked a few weeks ago if I knew anyone who would be interested in a treadle machine.  Treadle?  Did you say "treadle" ???  Stopping short of a minor heart attack, I managed a squeaky "I do - and it's ME".  Gifted!  I was warned it's in bad shape ...but who cares!  I have a treadle machine!  Yes, it is in parts for easier transport.  Yes, it is rough.   The desk portion on its back.....with the wheel of the treadle peeking behind it.   And then there's the mystery accessories in the drawers.  And the treadle part itself - taking a nap.   Oh - the machine???? UFQ #4 on the way! 7 March 2017

Nice to have a plan.  Nice to finagle a makeshift design wall .... Not the best but it works. Layout for UFQ #4 - Funky Curvy Rail.  Did I share this was a class I took so many years ago?  Curved pieces have always been such a challenge - but this instructor (yikes - what is her name?) took the mystery out of it.  Bought the ruler and everything 😄 Layout?  Of course: First row sewn together.  Borders....yes.  Three is the plan.  First one black - then white - then purple.  Widths?  I haven't a clue right now.   Onward to UFQ #4! A Day in the Life....

Retirement surely does have its benefits....like grandson age 3 1/2 who spent today watching grandma. While this isn't an unusual occurrence , each day he spends with me is so very special. We've explored Boonshoft Museum of Discovery (great place for kids!), we've spent time at every McDonalds that has an indoor playground, we've taken walks and we've blown bubbles in the wind. Each day is different - each day becomes my favorite day. Today was no exception. We walked to McDonalds and stopped various times to pick the tiniest of flowers, watch an ant crawl across the sidewalk and counted the big rocks we saw. After getting our meals, we found a place in the playground area. Grandson would bite off a bit of the chicken nuggets, swallow & then run off to the play area.
