Time Warp .... 10 Nov 2025

It’s been a long time since I captured any thoughts on the ‘net.  Why?  I haven’t a clue other than perhaps it just isn’t a big deal anymore.

And the photo?  Our first snowfall of the season.  Started snowing yesterday evening and continued.  Snowfall depth?  Probably under inch.

To backtrack......

Around 8 years ago we decided it was time for mom to move from Oshkosh WI to Ohio...specifically, closer to where we live.  The trips to and from Oshkosh for medical appointments was getting more difficult as time went on.  She was living alone in a very nice condo...but alone.  It took awhile to convince her to move but move she did.  Lived alone in a nice apartment not far from our home.  Mind you, she was diagnosed with early Alzheimers but still able to function okay.  For a few years she was doing okay ....then COVID hit.  Within 2 years, she passed on her 92nd birthday.  Lots of events during that time frame, but best to just relive those memories in my head.

Quilting?  Sporadically.  After we moved into our beautiful forever (maybe) home, I sold my first mid arm quilting machine & frame.  Tried a sit down set up - didn’t work for me.  Months and months later I purchased a Q’Nique 15 Pro & frame.  It has been sitting for months and months... Okay, at least 2 years.  Frame put together nicely by my husband....Q’Nique placed on the platform.  All it needed was to get 2 encoder wheels attached (geez - who paid attention to what they heck they were buying?!?!?) and a mini screen.  Without going into great detail (which I’m unable to do most days anyway), the encoder wheels are finally attached....the mini screen not yet (what in the heck is it for?!?!) and the instruction manual is opened to the section “Where to add oil”.  That was 2 weeks ago.  Do you sense a trend going on here?!!?!?!

I almost got to the point of selling the quilting set up....but how to sell if I couldn’t attest to how well it worked.  I think I’m at a great stopping point for now...and blame it on some creeping crud I’ve had for over a month now.

Good news is - an abdomen CT scan with dye is scheduled for tomorrow in hopes to get answers for some very uncomfortable days I’ve had for quite awhile.  That’s my excuse for putting off completing the quilting setup and I’m sticking to it.

In the meantime, I have made uncountable drink coasters, several “soup mats” (yeah - to put underneath a bowl of soup - go figure), and am in the process of finishing a reversible very very long table runner (86” in length) for daughter & husband.

Here is what I have learned.....If coming to a crossroads and unsure how to go forward, just take one of the two roads and deal with it.  God will surely let you know if it’s the wrong road.  That’s #1.  #2  - it’s okay to take a break now & then.  #3?  Work on developing a relationship with Jesus and you cannot go wrong.  Haven’t even thought about a relationship??  That’s fine....He’s always waiting and will continue to wait.   Trust me - #3 is the most important of all.  Without that relationship, life is pretty much black & white.  Jesus adds the color....no doubt about it.

Now for a much needed nap.  Yeah, that falls under #2.
