#56 Project Completed (Kind of) - Not to Mention a Rant.....

And it is October 6th.  2018.  Saturday.

First the rant.

Late September hubby ordered a group of bookcases.  Ikea.  Online.  Long story short, bookcases were to arrive this past Friday.  He lines someone up to put together the bookcases plus do the finish work.   Truck pulls up.  Bookcases on the manifest.  Bookcases NOT on the truck.

Twenty phone calls to Ikea yielded absolutely nothing.  Not even the glimmer of a real person at the end of the 1-888 number.  This is not customer service - more like customer aggravation.

Called the delivery service.  Success!  Talked a real live human being.  Again, long story short.  The Columbus warehouse was contacted.  Drivers of the truck didn't answer their phones.  Was promised a call by end of the day with an update.  No call.

Email from Ikea was waiting for me early this morning.  A very nice apology for "lost" shipment and new shipment will arrive in 2 weeks.  Please don't reply to this email as it is not monitored.  Of course it is not.

In the meantime I had entertained (serious) thoughts of trashing #56.  Finally gave myself permission to do...and then something just stopped me.  Throw some borders on the quilt top and see how it looks.  Fair enough.  After all, I am attempting to destash.....

The hall way is very accommodating for smaller quilts.  Like our hallway floors?  We do too.  Have I measured it?  Not yet....but it would do for a baby or toddler...

Okay, so I still don't like it....but I do like that I persevered and that was/is a very good feeling.

And so tomorrow early afternoon we head out to the yearly Pastor's Conference.  Somewhere in Indiana.  Starts Monday and ends Wednesday afternoon.  Ms Featherweight will go with me along with a jelly roll or two.  Yes, I unashamedly like jelly roll strip quilts.  Great background for appliqués.....

BTW, tried out our Air Fryer for the first time.  A small steak.  Absolutely a GREAT buy.  Easy to use, easy to clean.  Steak was fantastic.

Hope your Saturday evening was very productive!  Mine was!
