23 February 2018....and the Strings Continue to Grow


Eighteen 12 1/2" blocks completed!!!  I do believe I am slowly becoming quite addicted to sewing string blocks.  

What a riot of color ... right up my alley.  

Goal?  Queen size .... which I want to fit our queen size platform bed.  Guess I better measure the platform bed first, huh.  

To sash or not to sash is the question.  Oh snap - I already have a sashed strip quilt flimsy waiting to be backed.  Somewhere there's a photo of it....somewhere.  

Next on the list:  ORGANIZE those photos.

Belonging to several yahoo quilting groups, I read almost all the posts (averaging 50 a day) and was struck by one post in particular. There are times when we all leap out in faith and post photos of our work. I'd like to think we do this with some sort of trepidation, looking for some sort of feedback. Never have I witnessed other than pure kindness when comments are posted in response to a completed project or perhaps just a block. However, this one post brought out something I didn't give much thought to until several days later.. The author pointed out a simple lack of courtesy that prevails among us all. UFQ #4 on the way! 7 March 2017

Nice to have a plan.  Nice to finagle a makeshift design wall .... Not the best but it works. Layout for UFQ #4 - Funky Curvy Rail.  Did I share this was a class I took so many years ago?  Curved pieces have always been such a challenge - but this instructor (yikes - what is her name?) took the mystery out of it.  Bought the ruler and everything 😄 Layout?  Of course: First row sewn together.  Borders....yes.  Three is the plan.  First one black - then white - then purple.  Widths?  I haven't a clue right now.   Onward to UFQ #4!
