And we have warmer temps.  Lots of rain - but warmer temps. It's a trade-off, I suppose.  Right now, I'm feeling chilled to the bone.  

Quilty update!  Working on backing for that illusive Fussy Bird Crumb Block top.  Or did I name it Fussy Crumb Bird Block top?  Nonetheless.....

Polka dots.  A perfect plan to rid the stash of polka dotted fabric.   Just 10 more lengths of 6 /12" wide pieces to go.  
These 4 strips are the more sedate of the strips.  Boggles the imagination, doesn't it?!!?!

In the meantime I have been researching how to use fleece as a backing.  What a bonus that will be....backing and batting in one.  And cozy!  That's next on the list......

This sums up my 15 minute challenge....so to speak.  More like 40 minutes this evening.  I need to assess my table and chair height.  Sewing should be a pleasure - not an "oh my aching back" event.  Or is this just a sign of age .....????

New project, you ask?  Oh yes, new project. Word got out that I "sew" a bit....and was asked a few weeks ago if I knew anyone who would be interested in a treadle machine.  Treadle?  Did you say "treadle" ???  Stopping short of a minor heart attack, I managed a squeaky "I do - and it's ME".  Gifted!  I was warned it's in bad shape ...but who cares!  I have a treadle machine!  Yes, it is in parts for easier transport.  Yes, it is rough.   The desk portion on its back.....with the wheel of the treadle peeking behind it.   And then there's the mystery accessories in the drawers.  And the treadle part itself - taking a nap.   Oh - the machine???? UFQ #4 on the way! 7 March 2017

Nice to have a plan.  Nice to finagle a makeshift design wall .... Not the best but it works. Layout for UFQ #4 - Funky Curvy Rail.  Did I share this was a class I took so many years ago?  Curved pieces have always been such a challenge - but this instructor (yikes - what is her name?) took the mystery out of it.  Bought the ruler and everything 😄 Layout?  Of course: First row sewn together.  Borders....yes.  Three is the plan.  First one black - then white - then purple.  Widths?  I haven't a clue right now.   Onward to UFQ #4! A Day in the Life....

Retirement surely does have its benefits....like grandson age 3 1/2 who spent today watching grandma. While this isn't an unusual occurrence , each day he spends with me is so very special. We've explored Boonshoft Museum of Discovery (great place for kids!), we've spent time at every McDonalds that has an indoor playground, we've taken walks and we've blown bubbles in the wind. Each day is different - each day becomes my favorite day. Today was no exception. We walked to McDonalds and stopped various times to pick the tiniest of flowers, watch an ant crawl across the sidewalk and counted the big rocks we saw. After getting our meals, we found a place in the playground area. Grandson would bite off a bit of the chicken nuggets, swallow & then run off to the play area.
