Tuesday Morning....6 February 2018
Packing day! We will leave this evening (hopefully no later than 9:30pm) for a hotel just outside Indianapolis. Two hours worth of driving. Sleep in tomorrow morning and then 6 hours plus to Oshkosh to spend a few days with mom. We will accompany her to her neurologist appointment on Thursday (just a followup), celebrate her 87th birthday on Sunday and then Monday morning, make our way back home.
As to Quilty talk....
This was delivered to the recipient yesterday.....
I am rather pleased how it turned out. Most of the surrounding heart blocks were a result of a call out for this particular quilt for a Yahoo group member. There are some very talented quilters in this particular group so it was a pleasure putting the quilt together.
After the quilt was acknowledged as having been received, I quietly removed myself from the group. Sometimes life has a way of telling us to start paring down. Time is precious....am I spending the time wisely?
And what am I working on while at home? Why backing for this flimsy:
Not the best of photos.... One of these days I'll really make attempts to capture quilts in the making properly.
Measures 77 1/2 x 77 1/2.
And here's the start of the backing. Oh yes, it's going to be one heck of a quilt. This is called "using up one's stash" and I had plenty of small polka dot fabric. Strips are 6 1/2" wide. Why 6 1/2" wide? Because that's the max my strip cutter cuts. But of course! Once the backing is pieced, I can boast - all tiny polka dot fabric has been used. Yay!
My take along project to Oshkosh? String blocks. 6 1/2 square. Only 50 more to go. No sashing. Just put 4 blocks together. Easy peasy. The backing? Piecing together several yards of fabric. No more strips pieced together for a backing. Boy, that is tiresome.
Latte finished and it's getting later by the minute.
Breakfast date with the hubby!
May your day be a very blessed one...
Sharon
